Please call or e-mail if you are interested in this unique Orvis-Endorsed, full-service lodge (3 meals per day, guides & lodging) in the Blackfoot Valley. Friends of mine own and run this wonderful gem.
North Fork Crossing fishing lodge was build in 1997 in a secluded little valley of its own on the North Fork of the Blackfoot River. A River Runs Through It, the book and the movie, have made this legendary river famous, but our Outfitter has been guiding folks in this phenomenal valley since before the book was published in 1976.
The North Fork Crossing is an ideal setting if you want to get off the world and really fish in a quiet unaffected place with genuine people. It is a unique addition to the existing fly fishing vacation spots. The lodge, which serves as the meeting and dining facility, is spacious and distinctively detailed to match the exceptional quality experiences you’ll have with the Guides on the water.
The fabled Big Blackfoot River has wild Westslope Cutthroat, Bull Trout, Browns, Rainbows and Brook Trout and is beautiful beyond belief. Excellent fly-fishing opportunities abound on the property and in the surrounding area. Float fishing and wading private waters provide more opportunities than you could fish in a month. Three distinct mountain ranges are visible from the deck which also overlooks four spring fed trout ponds and the North Fork of the Blackfoot River. The surrounding hills are covered with Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine, Rocky Mountain Juniper, Engelmann Spruce and aspen groves. Scenic is certainly an unstated word to describe the surroundings.
The guest sleeping accommodations may seem a bit unusual – semi-permanent wall tents! Wood floors, oversized custom-made beds with very comfortable mattresses, screened windows and doors, electricity and controlled comfort heat, and a deck make this "camping" experience memorable beyond your wildest imagination. Take a short walk and enjoy a private modern bath — one for each tent-cabin.
Dining at the North Fork Crossing elevates the rustic experience to another level. The wonderful gourmet dining provided is inspired by a culinary school trained chef! Begin your day with a breakfast buffet of exotic egg casseroles or stuffed French toast and hot apple cider syrup. Lunch is served riverside by your Guide and is guaranteed to fortify an angler for the afternoon hatch. The talented culinary team prepares creative dinners worthy of the finest restaurants. A lively salad of wild greens followed by our grilled buffalo steak with spicy mango chutney leads to homemade cheesecake with local huckleberries and the end of an incredible day.
