LODGING

CrossCurrents can arrange for a most pleasant stay here in our neck of Montana.  We have over a dozen lodging options for our customers to stay either on or near the Missouri River.  We can accommodate from 1 person to groups of 12+.  From basic accommodations to pure luxury, prices range from $65 to $695 per night.

Our store on the Missouri River is located in the small fly-fishing town of Craig, Montana.  (A small drinking town with a BIG fishing problem!)  Many of our Missouri River customers stay with us in our Craig lodging facilities, as it is so convenient for fishing, floating, dining and even hunting in the Fall.  Many clients park their vehicle the day they arrive and don’t get back in it until they leave because everything they need is all in short walking distance!  All our cabins, houses & motel rooms are non-smoking and have air conditioning and heat and are either new or recently remodeled.

Built in 2006, the two Motel Rooms that make up The Fish Inn Motel are attached to the East side of our 2-story building in Craig.  The West half of the building contains our new Fly Shop.  (How convenient is that?!)  Each room has two, comfortable, Bassett Bramblegate II, extra-long single beds, a private bath with a 4’ wide shower and shower heads at 6’4” for taller folks, satellite TV and wireless internet.  We used special “quiet construction” techniques utilizing double insulated walls, double pane windows and central heat & air conditioning so the rooms will be comfortable in any weather.  There are mini refrigerators and microwaves in each room and free, gourmet coffee each morning in the shop.  This is a popular place to stay the last few seasons so please try to book as early as possible, especially for July and October.  They are available all year long so check out our off-season special pricing for your late Fall or Winter visit to the Missouri.  (Photo above on the right shows the optional king bed which is available for a $25 extra charge.)

The River’s Edge Retreat

Number of Guests:  1 to 6.

Situated on the banks of the Missouri River approximately 6 miles North of Craig off of the Recreation Road, the River’s Edge Retreat is well named.  This 2 bedroom, 2 full bath house was remodeled/updated in 2006 and is comfortably furnished and well appointed with everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation in Montana.  The master bedroom features a king size bed and an extra-long single with the second bedroom containing one full bed and an XL single.  The living room has a full-size sleeper sofa as well as being smartly furnished with unique tables, chairs, an entertainment system and a gas stove for warm charm during the cooler times and air conditioning for the summer months.  The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a gas grill on the large, covered deck overlooking the mighty MO with tables and chairs for dining in shaded comfort.  Feel free to grab your rod and wade fish over 90 feet of private river frontage while your buddy grills the steaks!  The River’s Edge Retreat is available for rental year round.  A great float plan is to put in at Craig or Stickney Creek FAS and take all day to float down to the house.  You can safely pull the boats up on the shore in front of the house overnight.  Then on the next day, float from the house to Mountain Palace or Prewett Creek well ahead of any other boats on that section.  A great way to enjoy some solitude on the MO even in peak season!

Located just 6 miles North of Craig in the heart of the spectacular canyon near the Dearborn River the Scenic Valley Lodge overlooks the magnificent Missouri in dramatic fashion.

When you stay at Scenic Valley Lodge, you will enjoy the finest in western style accommodations. The lodge was designed and built as a fly fishing destination and no expense was spared to ensure guests have the most comfortable furnishing and amenities all in a wonderfully fun décor.  You will remember the place you stayed as much as the fabulous fish you caught when you spend your vacation at the Scenic Valley Lodge.

After your day of fishing on the mighty Missouri river, you might want to play some pool in the great room, tie some flies at the tying bench or check out the scores and weather on the flat screen satellite TV.  Maybe you just want to relax and put your feet up in the sun room and gaze at the surrounding mountains and river below as the fading light reflects rich colors off the ribbon of river and canyon walls in the distance.  Feel free to mix your favorite cocktail at the well equipped bar (liquor not included) and then prepare your culinary masterpiece in the fully furnished gourmet kitchen or grill your steaks to perfection on the huge, professional gas barbeque grill on the massive lower deck.  The upper deck is also another wonderful place to sit outside, enjoy a fine cigar and talk about the one that got away before heading off to one of the comfortable rooms for the night.

Scenic Valley Lodge is designed to accommodate groups of four to twelve in four comfortable guest rooms and pull out sofa beds. Three full baths with a continuous hot water system ensures you will always have the perfect shower.  Daily cleaning service is provided.  For groups up to 8 guests, we can arrange for dinner and breakfast to be prepared and served for an additional cost.  This is a wonderful place to stay – I think you’ll agree.

Just down the street from our fly shop and The Fish Inn Motel is the CrossCurrents Cottage with its large lawn and tall pine trees and flower gardens.  The first thing guests are impressed with about the Cottage is the sizable Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room.  There is plenty of space to stretch out in the Cottage.  The house was remodeled making the two, small bedrooms into one, very large bedroom.  There is 3, extra-long single beds (with very comfortable Sealy Posturpedic Backsaver mattresses!) in the oversized bedroom with a wide closet.  Out in the spacious Living Room are a Full-Size Sleeper Couch and an optional Queen-Size Aerobed (for groups larger than 3) along with tables, chairs and an entertainment system.  The large patio on the South side has a gas grill and patio furniture for cooking and relaxing after a day on the river.  You could also check out your favorite fishing show, catch up on the news and weather or watch a movie in the Living Room on the satellite TV with a DVD player and a library of DVD’s.  The Kitchen is fully equipped and has a refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster & coffee maker.  Guests enter from the back door where there is a large Mudroom for hanging your waders and rods.  A nice feature of the Cottage is the central heat and air-conditioning – so comfortable no matter what time of year.  There is also a new (in 2010) washer & dryer available for longer term renters.  In the Fall we have groups who love the place while they are here big game and bird hunting.
