Current Flows: 3,600+ cfs
Weather ForecastSaturday — Low 50s & rain/clouds Sunday  Low 60s & partly cloudy
Hatch Report: Midges, BWOs
Midges, check! BWOs, check! The Missouri River is starting to produce a lot more bugs. With water temps at that ideal mid 40s range, the trout are active and looking to eat.
Nymphs: Pill Popper #12 – #16, Caviar Scud #12 – #16, Poxyback Sow Bug #12/#14, Tunsim Fire Bead Sowbug #12 – #16, Zebra Midge #16 – #20, AMEX #14-#16, Tailwater Sow #12 – #14, Pyscho May #18 – #20, Crystal Bender Baetis, #18 – #20
***Water temps are ideal right now and with the rain and wind coming in on the weekend, sticking to nymphs is a great call. For the mornings stick to your basics (worms, sowbugs, and scuds)and fish about 4 to 6 feet from your top fly. Then in the afternoons start to change it up. Go shallower like 3 to 4 feet from your top fly and focus on baetis and midge nymphs
Dry Flies401K Baetis #18 – #20, Film Critic BWO #18, Griffiths Gnat #18 – #22, Cluster Midge #14 – #18, Purple Haz #16 –  #18, Parachute Adams #16 – #18, Hi-Vis Spinner BWO #16 – #20, Sprout Emerger BWO #16 – #20, RS2 #16 – #20, Low Rider Skwala
***If it’s not windy or rainy, the midge hatch during the day has been phenomenal. BWOs are hatching around 2P. Make sure you cast down stream to your trout of choice.
Streamers: Lil’ Kim, JJ Special, Sparkle Minnows, Flash Fry Zonker, Kreelex, Docs Articulator, Sparkle Yummy
***Weather this weekend is going to be ideal for them streamers! With the wind and rain, you won’t have to worry about keeping a perfect drift with a big streamer. The sinking leader systems are our best advice. It can be the difference between a fish and no fish as far as streamer fishing goes. The sinking tip allows you to hold that streamer down at the right depth for most of your retrieve. Longer time in the water, your chances of catchin’ increase.
